Source Decay

Source Decay grew up playing their parent’s music on vinyl and cassette, mostly obscure punk, prog rock and german electronica. Taking guitar lesson from the age of 6 they first began working with electronic music at age 12 using a demo of Fruity Loops from a Nutra-Grain box. Through their teen years they studied various instruments and developed their audio aesthetic and compositional capabilities.

Source has composed for dance, theatre, film, art installations and podcasts and is currently working on two experimental albums fusing different genres of music.

Self described as a sound artist and composer, Source creates ambient ‘found audio’ compositions using samples, electronic and field recorded audio to create ambient soundscapes punctuated by driving percussive moments.

Source also DJ’d for a few private parties in the twenty-teens but was often asked to finish their set prematurely as they music was described by audiences
as depressing.
